Eric lay there in the cage pleading, even screaming to be heard. He could never...NO...would never give into the crimson suited man standing before him. His heart in his hand, he pleaded with the stranger to let him go. But the man only stared back at him with shapeless eyes. Eyes that bore into Eric like searing coals. This man knew all there was to know about his captive, and yet, Eric had never said a word to him.

The man's cool voice ushered through the room. "Every dream, every fear, every heartfelt moment...just fleeting emotions. You have unlimited potential and you yourself have no idea of it. Untapped, RAW, unrefined...you are coals and you could be diamonds. Cherished and valued and with no equal. So, free yourself from the impurities of worry and strife. And I will reshape you into that of value. I will break that brittle thing you call humanity... and well, you may fall apart, but you will be my most valued item. So, accept your destiny and walk with me on your paws...and be free."

Tears streamed down Eric's eyes, he had never hear anything so beautiful in his life. And yet, the same words gave a sense of forboding that sent waves of emotion rippling to every corner of his body. It was in that deep cellar that time froze. Eric, in his cage and the Man in the crimson suit staring down at him. They would be worlds apart soon, and yet so connected.
